Fuwawa  -  a houseplant wall lamp
What if light could change its shape — responding to the environment around it?
FUWAWA is a lighting piece that transforms its shade through its own warmth. As the light turns on, its petal-like form gently closes — almost as if it carries an intention to soften the glow.

SMA (shape-memorized alloy) sewn with the fabric deforms when heated by the light itself.
Even when unlit, its green-dyed surface allows it to blend naturally into interiors, like a houseplant.
At the beginning of my process, I focused on the human tendency to form emotional bonds with living things such as plants, and began to question what it would mean if lighting itself could exhibit its own behaviors.
Those behaviors shouldn’t be overly assertive, but instead gentle and ambiguous, allowing the object to blend into its surroundings. I found this subtle quality more natural and charming.
